Principles & Methods of Instruction (PMI)


Overview

To gain an Instructor Rating or Training Approval for any Flight Activity, you must pass a theory examination in the Principles & Methods of Instruction. This course is designed to educate pilots on the principles of training and assessment applicable to aviation and will ensure trainees are ready for the CASA PIRC Examination.

Prerequisites

Private Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) minimum.

Conduct

8 x 45 minute lessons per day over four days, full time, from 0800 to 1700 hours, at the GFT Theory & Briefing Room, Hangar 3, 26-28 Lockheed Close, West Sale Airport, Victoria, 3851.

Examination

Up to six Practice Examinations and Debrief included. Throughout the course, trainees will also receive additional notes and will have access to ongoing support throughout their study before attempting the CASA PIRC Examination.

The CASA PIRC Exam duration is 2.0 hours and the pass mark is 75%. CASA Examinations are provided by Aspeq Exam Centres from Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays.

The sitting fee is $103.61 and the CASA Fee is $65.
