Theory Course Information

Overview

This course refers to the use of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) in IFR Operations. Pilots looking to fly with the aid of GNSS or those wishing to obtain an Instrument Rating with GPS NPA Approach should consider this course. Students will learn all aspects of GNSS Theory and the relevant aspects of IREX Theory, and will receive practical advice on how to operate their systems during flight.

Prerequisites

Private Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) minimum.

Conduct

Either 8 x 45 minute lessons per day over two days, from 0800 to 1700 hours; OR 4 x 45 minute lessons per day over four evenings, from 1800 to 2200 hours; at the GFT Theory & Briefing Room, Hangar 3, 26-28 Lockheed Close, West Sale Airport, Victoria, 3851.

Examination

In-house, 20 questions, 60 minutes allowed, pass mark 75%.
