Flight Activity Endorsements

Flight Activity Endorsements (‘FAE’) on Licences under the CASR Part 61 FCL system include:

  1. Spinning (‘SPIN’),
  2. Aerobatics (‘AERO’),
  3. Low Level Aerobatics (‘AERO LL’),
  4. Formation Flying in Aeroplanes (‘FF A’), and
  5. Formation Flying with Aerobatics (‘FF AERO’).

All of our FAEs are professionally delivered – without any shortcuts – but as efficiently as possible to maximise your confidence and safety in carrying out advanced manoeuvres. You will need to hold a PPL(A) as a minimum.

Our HOO has substantial civil and military experience conducting and teaching the SPIN, AERO and FF A FAEs. His experience includes thousands of spins in ten different aeroplane types including a military jet trainer as well as IAC and AAC-sanctioned Competition Aerobatics at State and National level. He also has experience teaching military formation procedures in two different Air Forces!

Note that FAEs do not require a formal CASA Flight Test, unlike Licences and Ratings.

Spinning (‘SPIN’)

The original aerobatic manoeuvre. Required before commencing the FI G3A TE Course and the Aerobatics Flight Activity Endorsement Course. Only takes a busy 1.5 days or an easy two days.

Aerobatics (‘AERO’)

The ‘basic’ Aerobatics Course will allow you to fly aerobatics in any suitable aeroplane down to 3000’ above ground level (‘AGL’) including carrying a passenger. You will be thoroughly trained in the theory and practice of all the basic manoeuvres so that you will have the skills and confidence to fly aerobatics proficiently and safely.

Low Level Aerobatics (‘AERO LL’)

More advanced aerobatics course for those who wish to engage in aerobatic competition, initially as low as 1500’ then down to 1000,’ then 500’ or even ground level.

Not yet available but planned for the future.

Formation Flying (in) Aeroplanes (‘FF A’)

The Formation Flying Course allows flight with one or more other aeroplanes in close formation. Great for refining your ‘stick and rudder’ skills and developing leadership and awareness in less-experienced pilots.

Taught by our HOO and other ex-ADF Instructors with vast experience in every aspect of formation flight in aeroplanes.

Formation Flying (with) Aerobatics (‘FF AERO’)

Aerobatics whilst in Close Formation – what could be more challenging and exhilarating?

Will require SPIN, AERO and FF A FAEs and appropriate experience levels in all three FAEs prior to commencement.

Not yet available but planned for the future.
