Private Pilots Licence (Aeroplane) [PPL(A)]


Overview

To obtain your Private Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) [PPL(A)], you must first pass the CASA PPL(A) Theory Examination, conducted in-house. AFTS will ensure you are confident and ready to pass your CASA Exam with flying colours!

Prerequisites

  • Pass in the RPL(A) Examination.
  • Passes in Year 10 Mathematics and Science.

Conduct

Either 8 x 45 minute lessons per day over sixteen days, full time, conducted each Monday to Thursday inclusive, from 0800 to 1700 hours; OR 4 x 45 minute lessons per day over thirty-two evenings; conducted each Monday to Thursday inclusive, from 1800 to 2200 hours, at the GFT Theory & Briefing Room, Hangar 3, 26-28 Lockheed Close, West Sale Airport, Victoria, 3851.

Examination

The CASA PPL(A) Exam is conducted in-house, subject to prior booking, the duration is 3.5 hours and the pass mark is 70%.

The sitting fee is $210 and the CASA fee is $65.
